Douglas County Historical Society:
Who We Are, How We Operate
This newsletter is published quarterly by the Douglas County Historical Society and is a benefit of membership in the Society. Other benefits include: a 10% discount in Museum Stores, discounts on workshops and programs, and privilege of voting for new members of the Board of Trustees.
The cash operating funds are raised through memberships, fund raisers, cash donations, memorials, bequests, rentals, grants, admissions and fees for programs and services. An additional 30% of operating resources come from donated goods and services and 86% from volunteer services.
DCHS is a private, non-profit corporation. It does not receive any funds from the State of Nevada and is not a branch of county government. Douglas County’s museums depend on you for direct support.
The Douglas County Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and sharing this exciting history by collecting and archiving items of historic significance, and to provide fun and educational programs that relate to the history of Douglas County and Nevada.

The Genoa Courthouse Museum in Genoa
Douglas County Historical Society is a private non-profit corporation which depends on individual support for continued operations. Funds are garnered from membership, donations, memorials, admission and grants.
DCHS DOES NOT receive funds from any other governmental entities and is not a department of Douglas County government.
