Student Day is now Student & Senior Day because of the interest in these programs by some many seniors. We have great programs planned over the next few months:
April 5: The program topic is techniques of writing and understanding cowboy poetry by Ken Gardner. Ken’s book “Sleepin’ in the Bunkhouse” is available at the Main Street Bookstore.
May 3: The program will be “Sign Language through Puppets.” The speaker is Paul Spears.
June 7: Laurie Hickey will portray Clara Martin Hawkins, wife of Theodore Perry Hawkins who was a Pony Express rider from Genoa. Remember we will have Pony Express/Snowshoe Thompson Day on June 19.
The programs on Student & Senior Day, held the first Saturday of each month at the Carson Valley Museum and Cultural Center in Gardnerville, are at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm and are of more interest to older students and adults. Student & Senior Day tours are at 10:00, noon and 2:00 pm and are geared to people of all ages.
