Membership

The members of the Douglas County Historical Society are a vital part in supporting the operations of the two museums, Carson Valley Museum and Cultural Center in Gardnerville and the Genoa Courthouse Museum in Genoa. Without the members financial support we would be unable to operate. As a member you can help us to increase our membership by asking friends and relatives to join us. Applications for new membership can be found on our website at www.historicnevada.org or you can obtain an application at either museum. Memberships also make a nice gift for those hard to shop for people.

Members are entitled to free admission at the both museums, receive a 10% discount on purchases in the gift shops, receive the quarterly Newsletter, receive invitations to special Events and discounts on special classes / educational programs. If you haven’t visited the museums lately, make plans to do so and bring your friends; you will be amazed at what our volunteers have done. You will also be proud of being a part of educating the citizens and visitors to Douglas County on our historic past.

Memberships are paid on an annual basis for business, individual and families, although lifetime memberships are also available.  If payment is received before the 15^th of the month the annual membership will start the first day of the current month. Payments received after the 15^th of the month will be applied to annual membership beginning the first of the following month.

Members will receive a post card to remind them when their annual dues are payable.
