TIP the scales with you ZIP

Starting January 2011, The Historical Society will have a competition among zip codes of Douglas County. Help preserve our County’s history and have some fun doing it by becoming a member. Lots of perks and fun go along with being a member!

  - Free admission to both museums

  - Discount in the bookstores

  - Free monthly historical lectures

  - Reduced prices on fund raising activities

  - Opportunities to use your skills for  volunteering.

  - Meeting people and making new friends

So, “No Horsing Around”! Call the Historical Society at 775-782-2555 or come by our offices at the 1477 US Hwy. 395 in Gardnerville and sign up.

The members of the Douglas County Historical Society are a vital part in supporting the operations of the two museums, Carson Valley Museum and Cultural Center in Gardnerville and the Courthouse Museum in Genoa. Without the members financial support we would be unable to operate. As a member you can help us to increase our membership by asking friends and relatives to join us. Applications for new membership can be found at the bottom of this page or you can obtain an application at either museum. Memberships also make a nice gift for those hard to shop for people.

Memberships are paid on an annual basis for individuals and families, although lifetime memberships are also available.  If payment is received before the 15th of the month the annual membership will start the first day of the current month. Payments received after the 15th of the month will be applied to annual membership beginning the first of the following month.

Members will receive a post card to remind them when their annual dues are payable.
